The Duke of Sussex is one of the King's Counsellors of State
The Royal Family has slapped down claims that Prince Harry could be given an apartment in Kensington Palace as part of plans to reconcile with the Duke of Sussex.
Prince Harry's position as one of King Charles's Counsellors of State has come under scrutiny as the Duke of Sussex does not currently have a residence in the UK.
The role allows Prince Harry to deputise for King Charles if he is called upon, however, the duke must have a home in the UK to be able to do this.
Counsellors of state are required to have this by law but since Harry was evicted from Frogmore Cottage in May, he no longer has a UK home.

The Duke of Sussex lives in a mansion in California with his wife Meghan Markle and their two young children Archie and Lilibet.
A royal source suggested that one option to resolve the issue was for King Charles to give his son an apartment at Kensington Palace, according to the Sunday Times.
However, this report has been slapped down by Buckingham Palace.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: "These claims are not true".
It comes as a friend of the King told the Sunday Times: "The King can see that to remove Harry as a counsellor of state would be seen as an act of antagonism and he does not want to do that.
"If, as a consequence of that, somewhere on the royal estate needs to be earmarked as a pied-à-terre for his son, that seems a reasonable thing to do."
King Charles evicted Harry and Meghan from Frogmore Cottage following the publication of the Duke of Sussex's autobiography Spare.
Harry's book contained multiple attacks on senior members of the Royal Family including Prince William and the King's wife Queen Camilla.
Meghan and Harry were given use of the five-bedroom Frogmore Cottage by Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding present in 2018.

Meghan and Harry were given use of the five-bedroom Frogmore Cottage by Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding present in 2018.
However, the couple have barely lived in the royal residence over the last three years.
The King originally gave Meghan and Harry just several weeks to pack up their belongings from Frogmore Cottage.
However, after negotiations, it was agreed they would have until after the Coronation to move out.
