The King and Queen both demonstrated their strong grasp of French today
The King's "stunning" and historic appearance in the French Senate today put Prince Harry's speech at the Invictus Games to shame, according to a body language expert.
King Charles and Queen Camilla both demonstrated their strong grasp of French as they delivered brilliant speeches during their three-day state visit to France.
A body language expert spoke exclusively to GB News, comparing the linguistic abilities of the King, Camilla and Harry.
Camilla gave a speech at the Bibliotheque Nationale de France in Paris for the launch of a new UK-France literary prize, the Entente Litteraire Prize.
Body language expert Judi James said: "Camilla did studies in French and French literature, plus she did time in a Swiss finishing school so she should speak French with confidence and ease.
"Meanwhile, Charles is said to be fluent in several languages, including French and has given speeches in French before. Camilla should just have had the edge with all her cutting-edge, immersed experience of the language.
"But Charles was a clear and rather stunning winner in the ‘Let’s have a go, they might just be able to understand me’ stakes, as he made an impressive speech that included jokes to the French Parliament."
James explained the cause of King Charles's "success" as he gave the speech in the Senate Chamber at Luxembourg Palace.

She suggested: "Part of his success is down to the way he is a thwarted performer who thrives in the spotlight on a stage.
"This suppressed acting ability clearly allows him to shuck off any inhibitions and adopt a much more French persona."
Queen Camilla and Prince Harry, on the other hand, "performed comedy denial gestures" according to the body language expert.
James opined: "Unlike both his wife and his son Harry, who managed a couple of phrases in German at Invictus, with that horrendous thing Britons do when we attempt a foreign language of making it look as though we’re doing something totally, award-worthy incredible, before performing comedy denial gestures like grimaces and eye-rolls by way of apology afterwards.
"For Charles though this looks like a ‘Je suis un Francais’ moment, where he drops his vocal tone a few notes and lets the words roll out using some changes in intonation, plus some accompanying gestures like the hand on the chest to announce a joke.

"He actually manages to sound more comfortable speaking French than he does speaking his own language, which he often appears to do with some effort, making creaking sounds and doing grimaces.
"Camilla looks completely unwilling to immerse herself in a French delivery though. Standing back from the lectern, holding her notes, she looks like a student reading out loud during an exam.
"Her tone is soft but her delivery is dry, lacking any attempt at flair, accent or acting. Charles ups his game but Camilla is just Camilla, as lacking in confidence in her delivery as she normally is.
"The performing gene seems to have missed her DNA which is probably quite a good thing as we have all been made aware that the King hates to be upstaged."
