Earl Charles Spencer has sparked speculation that he visited Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in California.

The brother of the late Princess Diana revealed on social media that he recently travelled to the United States.

Earl Spencer wrote: "Happy Thanksgiving to all Americans - from Manhattan to Malibu (both of which I’ve visited in the past few weeks)."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live in Montecito, which is roughly an hour's drive away from Malibu.

One fan replied to the earl, saying: "Hope you had some time in Montecito."

Another said: "I hope you were able to spend time with your loved ones in California, and I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season."

Similarly, someone added: "California says welcome! I'm assuming you made a stop in Montecito?"

Despite publicly feuding with his father and brother, Prince Harry has remained close with the Spencers.

The Duke of Sussex has a warm bond with his two aunts, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes, as evidenced by their inclusion in Prince Archie's christening photo from 2019.

He was also spotted chatting fondly with his uncle, Earl Charles Spencer, during the unveiling of the Kensington Palace statue of Diana, Princess of Wales in 2021.

The duke and duchess moved to Montecito in July 2020 when they purchased their Santa Barbara home.

The property has nine bedrooms and is located about 95 miles north of Los Angeles.

Doria Ragland, Meghan's mother, lives in View Park-Windsor Hills in Los Angeles - a two-hour drive away from the Sussexes.

The mother-daughter duo have a close relationship, and Doria is known to help raise her grandchildren, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two.

Earl Charles Spencer, on the other hand, lives on the opposite side of the Atlantic on the Althorp Estate, located in West Northamptonshire.
