At the event, Camilla was handed gifts of Valentine’s Day jumpers with big, red hearts printed on them by host Gyles Brandreth.
King Charles is spending this special evening away from his wife, Camilla as he returned to Sandringham today following a 24-hour period in London.

The monarch is expected to return regularly to London for cancer treatment.
The Royal Family’s official Twitter page posted a series of pictures of Camilla at the event tonight with a brief explanation of the night.
Her Majesty The Queen attended a celebration of Shakespeare, where she was joined by some famous faces. The event concluded with performances by Gary Oldman, Robert Lindsay, and Dame Judi Dench.

Robert Lindsay, an English actor, said that Valentine’s Day was the “perfect day to celebrate the King’s love of Shakespeare, and indeed to celebrate the love between the King and the Queen.”
It is understood that the event was meant to be a joint event for Charles and Camilla, but as the King has postponed all public-facing duties in the wake of his cancer diagnosis he did not attend.

A statement from Buckingham Palace read: “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.
“Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”
However, the Queen has been continuing her royal duties as her husband takes a step back and also toured an art studio today in west London.
During the tour, the Queen admired a painting of Princess Charlotte, commenting that it was “lovely.”
