Princess Beatrice stunned in a shimmering black dress at a star-studded event last night.

The princess attended the Blenheim Ball with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in Woodstock, England.

Beatrice looked dazzling in a long, sparkling black cut-out dress and Jimmy Choo blue, velvet high heels.

The black-tie event was held in the 18th century Oxfordshire palace in aid of the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Beatrice paired her £400 dress with a black, textured clutch bag and wore her long hair down in loose waves.

The couple brushed shoulders with reality TV stars Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo at the glamourous gathering.

They also walked alongside Lady Alexandra Spencer-Churchill and Lady Harriet Dalmeny.

Beatrice’s husband Edoardo donned a smart, velvet black dinner jacket and bow tie.

The glitzy event was described as an “unforgettable evening” on the charity’s website and promised "superb food by celebrity chefs".

Celebrities began the evening with a glittering drinks reception in the Great Hall of the palace followed by a dinner in the Long Library.

According to the event details: “With superb food served by celebrity chefs accompanied by some of the very best wines, we really hope that everyone lucky enough to be at the event, will make this another record-breaking year for Starlight, helping us to support every child in hospital to live every day fully even when they are sick.”

The funds raised from the event go towards the charity’s hospital play and distraction services.

The charity is “the national charity for children’s play in healthcare, supporting children to experience the power of play to boost their well-being and resilience during illness.”

It comes as Sarah Ferguson’s eldest daughter receives a tribute to her and her sister, Princess Eugenie, from their mother.

The Duchess of York marked International Women’s Day with an emotional message to her two daughters yesterday.

She said: “Today is a day to celebrate, to cherish, to honour, and to love all of the women making an impact, big or small, privately or loudly.
