Princess Beatrice 'steps into royal rift' with public show of support for Prince William

Beatrice, currently pregnant with her second child, wore a £650 Zimmermann midi dress in navy, which she first wore in New York in 2023, as well as in Dubai earlier this year.

Prince Andrew's eldest daughter also owns the garment in green, which she famously wore for her engagement photos with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2019.

Beatrice's attendance at the Centrepoint Awards is significant, given it was a public show of support for her cousin, Prince William, who is currently locked in a rift with Prince Harry.

The Duke of Sussex is known to be close to Princess Beatrice, as the two walked into Westminster Abbey side-by-side for King Charles's Coronation back in 2023.

King Charles's former royal butler Grant Harrold previously claimed Princess Beatrice could be the key to achieving a ceasefire between William and Harry.

He said: "Beatrice could act as a peacemaker for Harry, William, and Charles.

"She would be someone to initiate peace in the family. She’s close to both William and Harry, as well as the King—and they trust her."

Princess Beatrice was not William's only family member who showed up to support the Prince of Wales on Wednesday evening.

His cousins, Lady Kitty Spencer, Lady Eliza Spencer and Lady Amelia Spencer all turned up at the British Museum in a show of support for Prince William.

The trio are the children of Earl Charles Spencer, the younger brother of the late Princess Diana, making them William and Harry's first cousins.

The Centrepoint Awards celebrate the achievements of young people who have transformed their lives after experiencing homelessness.

The late Princess Diana was a longtime and passionate supporter of initiatives to end homelessness.

During his speech, the Prince of Wales demanded a movement that creates “systemic change” to end homelessness in the UK.

Speaking at the event, which was hosted by Claudia Winkleman, William said: “I am inspired by the ambition and commitment of all the award winners and nominees this evening. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves."
