The Princesses of York have a very close relationship with their mother

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie received a touching tribute on their mother's birthday.

Sarah Ferguson celebrated her 65th birthday on Tuesday and issued a thank you message to all those who sent her well wishes.


Fergie's statement contained a special tribute to her daughters and her grandchildren.

She wrote: "Thank you for all of your wonderful birthday wishes!

"I’m feeling incredibly grateful to be here every day, to smell the flowers, to read and write, and to be able to see my daughters and my grandchildren.

"It has been an extraordinary, full year - a year of recovery and of growth - and I just feel so lucky.

"Thank you again to all of you who made it so and who took the time to send me birthday wishes."

It comes as Princess Eugenie sent an emotional birthday message to her birthday.

Others feature Eugenie, Beatrice and Sarah together as the royal trio are known to have a close bond.
