Prince William has written the foreword for an upcoming book about a cherished friend.
Lindsey Burrow, the widow of Rugby League legend Rob Burrow, is set to publish a book entitled Take Care, a “memoir of love, family and never giving up”.
The 41-year-old passed away in June at the age of 41 after living with motor neurone disease (MND) for five years, after being diagnosed in late 2019.
He spent the last years of his life campaigning for funding for treatment of the disease, and in January of this year, he was awarded a CBE by Prince William.
William paid tribute to the sporting star following his death: “A legend of Rugby League, Rob Burrow had a huge heart. He taught us, ‘in a world full of adversity, we must dare to dream.’ Catherine and I send our love to Lindsey, Jackson, Maya and Macy.”
In Lindsey’s upcoming memoir, the prince is likely to share more admiration for the Rugby League legend in his foreword.
Describing the book, Lindsey said: “Take care is a memoir of love, family and never giving up. As well as telling our family story, I want it to highlight the work that so many carers in the U.K. are doing in the hope that it will give readers and families hope to overcome challenges in their own lives.”
She shared the announcement on her joint Instagram page with her husband, which boasts over 60,000 followers.

In January, Prince William travelled to Leeds to give Rob his CBE, alongside his wife, his three children, and Kevin Sinfield.
Sinfield, who is now defence coach for England's rugby union side, also received the honour for his work raising millions for the MND treatment centre in Leeds.
“I brought your CBEs up here to give to you today if that's okay,” the prince told them.
“While you're in your home, in Leeds, surrounded by your family and friends - I thought today was a good day.”
Presenting Burrow, 41, with the honour, he said: “The most amount of thank yous and congratulations for all the inspirational work you've done Rob, you've been amazing and everyone's so proud of you.”
Leeds Rhinos, the club where Burrow spent his entire career and won eight Super League titles, said Burrow “inspired the entire country with his brave battle against MND since his diagnosis in December 2019.”.
They added: “Burrow played his entire career with Leeds Rhinos and won every honour with the club as part of their golden generation.
“A hard working and dedicated player, his fearless performances made him one of the most respected players in the Rhinos ranks.”
