The Prince of Wales impressed many with his secret confession

Prince William has confirmed that he snuck out for a secret jog in Central Park, during a chat with previous Earthshot Prize winner Vaitea Cowan.

The Prince of Wales admission sparked a wave of praise for the royal across social media.

The Prince of Wales was asked by Cowan: “Is it true? Did you go running in Central Park this morning?"

William replied: “I did, Vaitea, yes. I decided to join the hordes of New Yorkers doing their morning routine.

“It was wonderful waking up in New York on a sunny morning rather than the rain we had yesterday.

"It was beautiful getting some fresh air this morning.”

One royal fan took to X saying: "It speaks volumes that despite being a future King, Prince William managed to go for a private jog in one of the world's most famous and popular parks.

"No staged NYC 'paparazzi chase' or drama involved."

Another royal watcher commented: "I have a feeling that he knows how to pull off discreet and his security can be discreet as well.

"He can blend in when he wants to and draw attention when he needs to."

One Twitter user said: "Prince William didn't have reporters or cameras stalking him either.

"I guess he allegedly doesn't call them to take pictures of himself." Another fan agreed, writing: "William is not desperate for attention."

Although William is enjoying his time in New York, he opened up about why he chose to hold the awards show in Singapore in November.

Speaking on why Singapore was chosen this year, William said: “We want to get around the world.

"We want to see solutions in different places; we want to work with those existing ones while opening new chapters, new areas. I think Singapore is a gateway to the Southeast Area, it's a new region.

"We know the innovation sectors there are huge and technology is booming there. Singapore is a city of nature, so they get it.”
