The Princess Royal explained how the late Queen was convinced to step back from the "decision-making process" surrounding her death, as the former monarch thought it would be "difficult" for officials if she died at Balmoral.
Anne, 73, claimed it was "serendipity" that she visited Balmoral before her mother died.
She added that she "weirdly felt a sense of relief" when the Imperial State Crown was removed from her coffin, signifying King Charles's assumed leadership of the Royal Family.
Speaking about her mother, Anne said: "I think there was a moment when she felt that it would be more difficult if she died at Balmoral.
