Sources close to the Duke of Sussex had previously claimed he would not attend the funeral of Lord Robert Fellowes

Prince William and Prince Harry reunited at the funeral of their uncle yesterday.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, flew from his home in the US to join his brother, 42, at the service for Lord Robert Fellowes.

A local in Snettisham, Norfolk, told The Sun: "We never saw them speak to each other and they kept their distance."

Meanwhile, a close family friend said they were "very happy to confirm both princes were there."

One source said how they only saw them at the end of the service at St Mary’s Church, adding: "I didn’t know they were there. They arrived very discreetly."

Another local said: "William and Harry were both there but we never saw them speak to each other and they were keeping their distance."

A spokesman for Kensington Palace told The Sun they would not comment on William’s private time. GB News has approached the Sussexes for a comment.

Harry and William’s uncle, who was married to Lady Jane Spencer - the late Princess Diana’s sister, died at the age of 82 of undisclosed causes.

He also served as the late Queen’s private secretary for nine of the most tumultuous years of her reign, from 1990 to 1999, which saw the divorces of three of her children and the death of the late Princess of Wales.

Lord Fellowes left his position as private secretary in February 1999 to return to private banking, his retirement having been announced in 1998 when his successor Robin Janvrin was named.

He was created a life peer on July 12, 1999, taking the title Baron Fellowes of Shotesham in the County of Norfolk in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. He sat as a crossbench peer until his retirement in 2022.

Lord and Lady Fellowes lived close to the church where yesterday’s funeral was held. Lady Fellowes joined Harry at a service earlier this year at St Paul’s Cathedral for the 10th anniversary of his Invictus Games.

Her husband featured on screen in Netflix drama The Crown, where he was played by Andrew Havill. He was related to Sarah, the Duchess of York and Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.
