King Charles is said to be 'doing well' following his prostate treatment on Friday

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been scolded for making red carpet appearances as King Charles and Princess Kate both receive hospital treatment.

The King and Princess of Wales are currently recovering at The London Clinic hospital, after undergoing surgery for personal health concerns.

Princess Kate is staying at the hospital for up to two weeks after having "successful abdominal surgery", and will not be back to royal duties until after Easter.

Queen Camilla has said His Majesty is "doing fine" following a "corrective procedure" on his prostate on Friday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not publicly spoken out about the royal health updates, instead attending star-studded events in the US.

The Duke of Sussex was criticised by some for not mentioning his father or sister-in-law during an acceptance speech at the Living Legends of Aviation Awards last week.

The couple were then spotted at the red carpet film premiere for 'Bob Marley: One Love' in Jamaica.

However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reported to have reached out to the family privately, according to insiders.

Discussing the Sussexes and their public silence on the King and Princess of Wales, Royal Editor Charlotte Griffiths claimed the glitzy appearances were "off key".

Griffiths told GB News: "I think it's a bit odd, isn't it? Because he's done not one but two public appearances. If I were him, I wouldn't have done either of those things, and we haven't seen that much of him lately.

"He's made two appearances, one with Meghan, and actually I think it's a bit off key, today of all days especially."

Host Patrick Christys agreed with Griffiths and claimed he "would not fancy" being the surgeon tasked with looking after the King, due to the amount of pressure involved.

Commentator Joanna Jarjue argued that the coverage of the Royal Family health updates has "backfired" on them, and has "created a storm" surrounding Princess Kate.

Jarjue explained: "I think that it would have been good to have that kind of transparency from Kate as well as Charles, for the people who are worried sick and really concerned about her. But also it just creates this kind of storm.

"I think that some of it's actually kind of backfired on the Royal Family. And I don't think that it's the Royal Family's fault necessarily.

"But I think some of the reporting, especially when it comes to William and how he's supporting her, I don't think that it's with the public as much as what certain people thought it would."
