Prince Harry is set for a lads holiday with his "closest mates" as Meghan Markle stays home, it has been claimed.
The Duke of Sussex is understood to head off on the lads' trip after a private 40th birthday gathering with the family at the Sussexes' Montecito mansion.
Harry will "enjoy a weekend getaway with a few of his closest mates" to celebrate his milestone birthday, according to reports in The Sun.
Meghan will stay behind in California with her children Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, who Harry previously said are the two "best gifts" he has ever received.
Harry, who wrote his memoir Spare about growing up in the shadow of his brother William, is thought to be increasingly dissatisfied with life in the US.
It comes as the duke is said to be seeking guidance on a return to the UK, and to the Royal Family.
Harry has reportedly consulted his trusted former aides about rebuilding his reputation in the UK.
Former friends of the duke claim he feels he has lost his way since the move across the pond.

Meghan, 43, took centre stage during their visits to Nigeria in May and Colombia last month.
Those in Harry’s inner circle have noted he seems to enjoy regular solo trips back to the UK, with Meghan refusing to set foot in the country.
A source close to them told The Sun: “Harry is feeling more and more isolated in California, which is why he has been reconnecting with old friends back home.
“The Colombia trip also really highlighted how Meghan is comfortable stepping into the spotlight, while Harry cuts a very sulky, unhappy figure in the background.

However, Prince Harry previously called Santa Barbara his "home" and expressed that he is very happy in the US.
He has criticised the UK, claiming it can be dangerous and that he will not bring the Duchess of Sussex here out of fear for her safety.
Earlier this year, the duke called the US his official residence in work documents.
