Meghan and Harry not sending well-wishes to Princess Kate amid her current struggles is “deplorable”, according to royal expert Michael Cole.
The former BBC royal correspondent joined Patrick Christys on GB News to discuss the Duke and Duchess of Sussex insisting they are not briefing against the Princess of Wales.
Since Kate’s abdominal surgery, no statement from Harry and Meghan regarding the Princess’ wellbeing has been forthcoming, however some reports suggest there has been private contact.
Cole said the bitter feud marring family relations would have left Harry and William’s mother, the late Princess Diana, bereft.

“Even in families where there is a falling out, when people are really up against it, even the worst rows are patched up”, he said.
“I think it is quite deplorable when it’s Prince Harry, who was so close to his brother and the Princess of Wales.

“I cannot stop thinking about their mother, the late, much missed Diana. She would be so upset about this.
“She thought those boys would always be there for each other. To see what has happened, she would be distressed in the extreme.
“I am so glad she is not here to see it because it would break her heart.”
Kate issued an apology this week for a manipulated photo of her with her children, Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte.

It was the first official photo of the Princess since her abdominal surgery, but it was pulled from international photo agencies after hints the photo had been doctored began surfacing.
A story later appeared in Page Six, the Post’s gossip column, quoting sources ‘close to Harry and Meghan’, saying: “This isn’t a mistake Meghan would ever make, she has a keen eye and freakish attention to detail.”
A spokesperson from the couple’s Archewell Foundation slapped down the claims, telling Newsweek: “With respect to Page Six, that did not come from us.”
Cole told GB News that the statement only served to distance the couple from the aforementioned story, and argued the couple should have used it as an opportunity to send well-wishes to the future Queen.
“They have never issued one single word of comfort to her”, he said.
“When you consider the Prince and Princess of Wales were married in 2011 and living in Kensington Palace, Harry was almost a fixture there, they were very happy and got on terribly well with Harry.
“I think you could say Harry loved her. Then Meghan entered the scene and we know what happened since.
“Of course they want to distance themselves from those words because they were very hurtful and very unkind.”
