Prince George faced an awkward moment during his first sports event abroad as he joined his father Prince William at the Rugby World Cup in France.

The Prince of Wales and his son watched Wales suffer a 17-29 defeat to Argentina in the quarter-finals of the tournament.


Prince William is the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union and travelled to France to support Wales.

Following the conclusion of the match, Prince William and Prince George went into the Wales team's dressing room.

However, welsh rugby union player Dan Bigger admitted that the encounter was slightly awkward for the royals.

Biggar wrote for his column in the Mail: "It was a quiet changing room.

"Prince William and George came in and that wasn’t the easiest gig they’ll get.

"No one had much to say."
