The Duke of Edinburgh was called a "germaphobe" by the royal author in his latest book
The Royal Family has released a video of Prince Edward that contradicts a bombshell claim made by Omid Scobie in his book Endgame.
The Duke of Edinburgh visited The Wharf Studios last week to mark 10 years of filmmaking in Barking & Dagenham.
In the video, Edward could be seen shaking hands with lots of members of the public, which directly contradicts a claim made by Scobie.
In Endgame, the author suggested that the prince "famously avoids most physical contact with the great unwashed".
Scobie quoted a royal source who said: “He’s a massive germaphobe."
One royal fan posted on X: "Another lie exposed!"
Another added: "Seems like @scobie needs to answer for why he’s calling members of the public 'the great unwashed'."
Someone wrote: "It seems that all of his book is based on people's opinions and not facts."

Many fans pointed out that Prince Edward does regularly shake people's hands, in contrast to what Scobie wrote in his book.
One said: "Even before he was the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward went around the world to 144 nations meeting, greeting and awarding recipients of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards on behalf of his father.
"What do you mean he never shook hands?"
Someone else commented: "Why would Omid Scobie go after Edward (or Sophie) who work hard and keep their heads down?
