The Duchess of Sussex shared a poignant video tribute to her beloved beagle Guy, who recently died, giving royal fans a rare glimpse into her family life.

The montage, posted on Meghan Markle's new Instagram account @meghan, featured previously unseen photos and clips of her cherished pet.

In a touching moment, the voices of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet could be heard in the background, revealing their strong American accents as Archie walked Guy.

This marks one of the few occasions the Sussex children's voices have been heard publicly since 2023, when they sang "Happy Birthday" to their grandfather, King Charles.

Their American accents were first noted during Harry and Meghan's Netflix docuseries in December 2022.

The latest video captured an intimate moment between young Prince Archie and Guy, with both children's voices audible in the background as Archie took the beagle for a walk.

In the tribute, Meghan revealed how she adopted Guy from a Canadian dog rescue in 2015 after he had been in a Kentucky kill shelter with just days to live.

"They referred to him as 'the little guy' because he was so small and frail, so I named him 'Guy'. And he was the best guy any girl could have asked for," she wrote.

The duchess shared that Guy had been a familiar face to her social media followers, appearing frequently on her former Instagram account and lifestyle blog, The Tig.

Guy remained a constant presence throughout Meghan's major life milestones, from her days on Suits through to her engagement, wedding and motherhood.

The beagle faced significant health challenges after a serious accident before Meghan's move to the UK, with doctors initially doubting he would walk again.

"H and I would drive late at night, after hours, to see Guy as he recovered in Surrey for months on end," Meghan shared, crediting veterinary surgeon Dr Noel Fitzpatrick for his recovery.

The duchess expressed her profound grief, writing: "I have cried too many tears to count."

The tribute video's release came ahead of Meghan's new Netflix series, "With Love, Meghan", premiering on January 15.

The duchess noted that viewers will see Guy in the upcoming episodes, writing: "Because many of you will now see Guy in this new series, I hope you'll come to understand why I am so devastated by his loss."

Her final message read: "Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you'll never know. As ever, Meghan."
