Melania Trump and Queen Camilla choose designers from their own countries in break from tradition

The First Lady was dressed in a bespoke butter-yellow skirt suit by American designer Adam Lippes.

Yellow is often associated with optimism, diplomacy and renewal, an apt choice for a meeting framed as reinforcing Anglo-American ties.

Mrs Trump completed the look with her Manolo Blahnik BB pumps in python, a familiar staple in her wardrobe.

The choice of footwear echoed previous high-profile appearances, reinforcing her consistent approach to styling.

Her hair was styled in loose waves, falling neatly over her shoulders, while her makeup remained natural and neutral.

Mrs Trump's decision to wear an American designer for such a high-profile diplomatic moment with the British King and Queen will undoubtedly raise eyebrows.

However, Her Majesty made a similarly bold decision. Camilla wore a white chiffon dress by Anna Valentine, an iconic British designer who even created Camilla's wedding dress back in 2005.

It is a longstanding royal tradition for members of the monarchy to spotlight designers from the countries they are visiting, or occasionally wear colours from their national flags.

Despite this, royal fans loved their outfits.
