Old friends claimed that Prince Harry 'spends most of his time thinking of the past'

Meghan Markle sees brooding over "injustices of the past and re-living old quarrels is a waste of a life" for Prince Harry, a former royal correspondent has said.

Jennie Bond suggested Meghan encouraging Harry to "move on" with his life is a "healthy move".

As the Duke approaches his 40th birthday, it has been claimed that he "spends most of his time thinking of the past", according to old friends.

The couple started a new life in the US after stepping down as senior working royals in 2020.

It comes as a confidant told The Times that Harry is "an angry boy" and "things haven't turned out how he wanted".

Bond said that this could be "frustrating" for Meghan as she wants to avoid "re-living old quarrels".

"If Meghan is encouraging Harry to leave the past behind and move on, then I think it is a healthy move. They have made their decision, left the working Royal Family and left the UK," she told OK!

"He says he now regards the USA as home — at least for the time being. Brooding on the perceived injustices of the past and re-living old quarrels is a waste of a life, and I think Meghan sees that".

However, Bond added that is it probably "easier" for the Duchess of Sussex to "look forward" as she does not have the history with the Royal Family.

She said: "On the other hand, she doesn’t have an entire and complex history of life in the confines of the royal family to worry about.

"It’s easy for her to look forward ensconced as she is in a country and lifestyle she is so used to and clearly loves.

"But Harry has said he wants to be reunited with his family, so he is obviously going to think about what has happened and how they have come to this state of affairs.

"And that’s probably quite frustrating for Meghan who seems to be at ease with estrangement from her own family.

"I don’t think Harry spends 'all' his time looking back but the Harry I knew as a young boy was someone who enjoyed fooling around with his family and having fun with them".

The feud between Harry and his family erupted following the Duke's criticisms of his family in his highly-controversial memoir, Spare and Oprah Winfrey interview.
