The royal couple made their first public appearance in weeks

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are “launching a comeback story” with their latest show of public unity, according to a journalist.

The royal couple made their first public appearance in weeks as they congratulated the young winners of their philanthropic grant in a video.

The video, posted on the website of their non-profit organisation, the Archewell Foundation, showed the couple making phone calls to unsuspecting young leaders.

According to journalist Freddy Gray, the video comes as part of a wider scheme to propel the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s “comeback story”.

“Will Harry and Meghan’s loved-up video silence the gossips? No,” he said.

“They’ve got a new PR push going on, Meghan has signed up to an agency. They’re trying to a comeback story.

“Will it work? We shall see.”

Speaking to the selected recipients, the couple beamed as they told young winners the news.

“Thank you for doing everything that you do. Our kids are incredibly grateful”, Harry told one.

Meghan added: “They don’t know it yet, but they will!”

The video showed Harry and Meghan in their Montecito mansion, where they congratulated those who won the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund (RTYPF) grants.

The Archewell Foundation backs the RTYPF, and is one of the multiple organisations on its committee, which aims to “support youth and inter-generationally led organisations shape the responsible technology movement.”

Some 26 youth-led ventures are set to receive $2m worth of grants under the scheme which will range between $25,000 and $200,000.

It comes after the royal couple faced rumours of separation, with some corners claiming they had been taking time away from each other.

Multiple sources have denied the claims, suggesting the rumours are fabricated.

The couple were recently hit with a financial blow in the form of Spotify cancelling their $20million deal, with Meghan’s ‘Archetypes’ podcast performing below the standards expected.

Another financial blow has been mooted with the couple’s $98 million Netflix deal reportedly under threat.

The couple are financially separate from the Royal Family, having severed ties in 2020.
