Meghan Markle and Prince Harry cancelled a party at the last minute earlier this month after being left furious by media reports, it has been claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were thought to be planning a big celebration with friends to mark American Independence Day on July 4.
Gazebos had been erected in the garden of their Montecito home for the gathering but were pulled back down when Meghan "instructed the planners to call it off".
A source claims that the couple had been left angry at rumours in the media that their business deal with Netflix was under threat.

They said the Duke and Duchess has been left with "no choice but to cancel".
Claims that Meghan and Harry's deal with Netflix was under threat surfaced just days after Spotify split from the couple.
Last month a joint statement from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Spotify claimed that they had "mutually agreed to part ways".

Bill Simmons, Head of Podcast Innovation and Monetisation at the streaming giant, even publicly labelled the couple as "f***ing grifters".
Shortly afterwards, a source at Netflix was reported to have suggested a significant sum of money could be withheld from the couple unless they started pitching better ideas.
"Netflix was pleased to sign Harry and Meghan and is looking for some great ideas going forward," a source told The Sun.
"But the remainder of the deal relies on them producing those good ideas.
