Prince Harry and Meghan are reportedly in talks with Audible

Meghan Markle felt lost after suffering the massive blow of losing her deal with Spotify, an insider has claimed.

In June, it was announced that Meghan and Harry's deal with streaming giant had ended.

The couple are now reportedly in talks over a lucrative deal with Amazon's Audible, a direct rival to Spotify.

An insider claimed that if an agreement is reached, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will receive a "huge payout" greater than the terms they signed with Spotify.

They continued: "Meghan seems very confident at the moment but the reality is that she's been in a pretty desperate spot.

"Losing the Spotify deal was a massive blow to the, not to mention her ego.

Spotify's CEO opened up on the reason the streaming giant culled podcasts including Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Archetypes.

Daniel Ek discussed the company's motivation for the move, four months after it was announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's podcast deal would not renewed.

Ek said: "We thought new innovation was needed to happen here.

"We thought we could come in and offer a great experience that both makes consumers very happy and allows new creators new avenues."

He added during an interview with the BBC: "And the truth of the matter is some of it has worked, some of it hasn't.

"We're learning from those and we are moving on and we wish all of the ones we didn't renew with the best of success they can have going forward."
