The Duchess of Sussex looks to be on the brink of securing a new podcast deal

Meghan Markle is in crunch talks over a deal that will make or break her Hollywood dream, according to a royal commentator.

The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly negotiating a deal with Amazon's Audible over a new podcast partnership.

Meghan and Harry suffered a major blow earlier this year after their deal with Spotify was axed after their Archetypes podcasts left executives underwhelmed.

However, the duchess looks to be on the brink of securing a new podcast deal with a direct rival of Spotify.

Royal commentator Christina Garibaldi said talks over striking a deal with Audible are "make or break" for Meghan's Hollywood dream.

Garibaldi told US Weekly: "Since parting ways with Spotify, she's said to be inching closer towards signing on the dotted line for a multi-million dollar contract with Amazon's podcast production partner, Audible.

"The new venture has the power to make or break her Hollywood dream.

"Word of mouth is spreading that it will lead to a huge payout even bigger than the millions Spotify splashed out and she's thrilled to be in the company of Michelle and Barack Obama who signed a deal with them back in 2022.

"I'm still hesitant about this and whether or not Audible would want to sign something like this considering how terrible the deal with Spotify went, maybe podcasting isn't in her future."

Royal commentator Christie Ross added: "A lot of people said that the podcasting wasn't great, there were just lots of creative differences so perhaps podcasting is not necessarily the way forward."

It comes as an insider claimed Meghan Markle felt lost after suffering the blow of losing her deal with Spotify.

In June 2023, a joint statement from Spotify and the Sussexes announced they had "mutually agreed to part ways".

The source told Closer Magazine: "Meghan seems very confident at the moment but the reality is that she's been in a pretty desperate spot.

"Losing the Spotify deal was a massive blow to the, not to mention her ego.

"She's been pretty lost since but this deal could turn everything around."
