GB News presenter Martin Daubney has launched a scathing criticism of Meghan Markle's upcoming Netflix series, taking aim at its lavish production values.

"Meghan Markle here, making bespoke doughnuts and in a £5m mansion that's not even hers, it's a set", Daubney remarked on GB News.

He particularly mocked the show's lifestyle elements, stating: "There's ice cubes there with flowers inside, just what you're needing. Who's got the time for that?"

The presenter compared the series to "Gwyneth Paltrow but mercifully without the dodgy scented candles."

The show's announcement came just one day after Meghan's return to Instagram, where she marked her comeback with a beach video showing her writing '2025' in the sand.

The series will showcase Meghan sharing cooking tips and engaging in activities like beekeeping alongside celebrity guests including Mindy Kaling and Abigail Spencer.

According to Netflix, the show will blend "practical how-tos and candid conversation" while demonstrating how to "elevate the everyday into the extraordinary."

The programme will feature the Duchess in various activities, from preparing take-home gifts for guests to arranging flowers and adding edible blooms to breakfast dishes.

Her former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer will join her, along with other critically acclaimed chefs and celebrity friends.

Royal historian Dr. Tessa Dunlop has joined the criticism of the show's portrayal of luxury living.

"See, I told you it was easy to mock. I mean, come on, a reality series in which one of the richest women in the world is pretending she can teach us 'little tips and tricks'", Dunlop commented.

She added that the show is "so out-of-reach for the vast majority, it is laughable."

Critics argue the series risks appearing disconnected from viewers' everyday challenges despite its aspirational content.

Despite his criticism, Daubney acknowledged the show might find a significant audience.

"Perhaps people will, in their millions, tune into Meghan Markle," he said on GB News.

He pointed to scenes of her "harvesting vegetables from a garden, squeezing lemons and basically milking it for all it's worth," whilst noting she's "paid millions for this."

"Maybe I'm being cynical and people will actually flock to this in their droves to get a periscope into her entitled lifestyle," Daubney concluded.
