The Duchess of Sussex opted for a new look during her four-day visit to the South American country

Meghan Markle appears to have made a major change to her wardrobe after stunning fans with her new outfits during her visit to Colombia.

The Duchess of Sussex, who is visiting the South American country alongside her husband Prince Harry, showcassed a stunning set of fitted trousers as she continues with her tour.

Meghan wore an ankle length maxi dress by Johanna Ortiz worth £1,670 and also donned a collared navy vest which paired with £350 ankle-grazing trousers from Veronica Beard.

The 43-year-old, who launched her own women’s fashion line in aid of her patronage at Smart Works, seemingly found a new tailor given the huge change in the length of her trousers compared to previous tours.

During a visit to Nigeria earlier this year, Meghan opted for a more relaxed approach to tailoring and allowed garments to trail along the floor.

The mother-of-two is now looking to wear ensembles to fit around her five-foot, six-inch frame.

Meghan yesterday opted for an ankle-skimming colourful maxi dress as she met with Colombian Vice President Francia Marquez and her husband Rafael Yerney Pinillo.

Johanna Ortiz, who has Colombian heritage, designed the frock with removable ruffle sleeves that could transform it from a one-shoulder to a strapless design.

The dress stopped just above the mother-of-two’s ankle and showed off her elegant brown kitten heels.

Meghan was also snapped clutching a cream £3,650 handbag from Italian company Loro Piana as she paired a £596 collared vest with £350 ankle-grazing trousers.

The actress-turned-royal reportedly opted for lengthier trousers during her trip to Lagos in May to give the illusion of height.

“Long dresses and trousers, depending on body type, can help to elongate the body and shape,” celebrity stylist Rochelle White told MailOnline.

“They can make you look taller and depending on the styles can help to define areas of the body you either want to highlight or cover up.”

She added: “Looking at Meghan, I feel that these styles make her look taller and highlight her silhouette. I feel it makes her look taller.

“I feel that she knows her body and the things or items that work for her best and is tapping into that with her looks.”

However, it has not only been in Nigeria that Meghan has opted for longer trousers.

Visits to Frankfurt and Edinburgh also saw the Duchess of Sussex don a longer pair.

Meghan and Harry appeared more loved-up than ever last night as the Sussexes enjoyed their first series of engagements on their four-day tour of Colombia.

Numerous photos showed the couple holding hands while watching on as folk dancers performed at the Delia Zapata National Centre for the Arts.

The Duchess also chatted with Marquez and pointed to costumes before shaking hands with dancers at the end of the performance.

The Sussexes addressed children in a session where the class talked about their favourite and less favourite parts of social media, technology and dealing with life on the internet.

Harry, 39, spoke openly about the rise of AI and called for “education and awareness” to tackle misinformation.

He said: “It comes down to all of us to be able to spot the true from the fake.

“In an ideal world those with positions of influence would take more responsibility. We are no longer debating facts.

“For as long as people are allowed to spread lies, abuse, harass, then social cohesion as we know it has completely broken down.”

Harry’s comments were considered a veiled swipe against Telsa CEO Elon Musk after the world’s richest man was accused of spreading misinformation.
