Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been accused of "lying" to the late Queen Elizabeth, after new claims suggest the former Monarch was left "furious" by a claim made by the couple.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have become the subject of a scathing claim made in a new book, written by esteemed royal author Robert Hardman.
In the new book, named Charles III: New King, New Court, The Inside Story, Hardman alleges the Queen was "very angry" after Meghan and Harry used her childhood nickname, Lilibet, as the name for their daughter.
Queen Elizabeth reportedly told Palace aides at the time: "I don't own the palaces or the paintings, only my name, and now they've taken that."

Omid Scobie, who wrote the controversial royal biography Endgame at the end of last year, has taken a swipe at the claims in a social media post.
Scobie wrote on X: "None of these Lilibet 'revelations' are doing the late Queen Elizabeth II any favours."
Speaking to GB News, Lady Colin Campbell hit out at Harry and Meghan following the latest allegation made against them, and claimed the couple "lied" to the Queen at the time of asking about the name.
Host Patrick Christys asked Lady C if the couple's previous claims of the Queen being "supportive" were now untrue.
Lady C revealed to GB News: "I think they had to have lied, because my information was that Harry asked her if he could name his daughter after her and she thought the name was going to be Elizabeth.
"It came as a great shock to her to discover that not only had he gone behind her back and named the child Lilibet, but that he had registered the birth in such a way that it was not possible for the name to be changed.
"She had to swallow it, so to speak."
Patrick Christys then asked the panel if the claims were "actually a massive deal", and suggested it was "quite cute".

Royal Commentator Phil Dampier expressed sympathy for the late Queen, and questioned if she may have been "tricked" by Prince Harry and Meghan.
Dampier said: "It's very sad to learn that in the final few months of her life, this amazing woman, this incredible reign she had, that she was undergoing this heartache to the extent where she became so angry that aides say they'd never seen her angrier.
"I think he probably tricked her. He said that he asked if could he call her after her, she probably thought that meant it was Elizabeth, and then by the time she found out it was Lilibet, it was all too late."
GB News has approached Archewell for comment on the claims, to which they have not yet responded.
