The 59-year-old royal put on a radiant display as she arrived at the historic venue for the festive celebration.

Demonstrating her fashion prowess, Sophie opted for a bohemian-style ensemble that perfectly captured the spirit of the seasonal gathering.

The duchess, who is married to King Charles's younger brother Prince Edward, has proven herself to be one of Kate's greatest supporters in recent months, particularly following the princess's cancer treatment.

The annual carol service, which will be televised on ITV1 on Christmas Eve, brought together a 1,600-strong congregation of community workers and charity representatives.

Sophie's striking ensemble featured a tribute to her children, Lady Louise, 21, and James, Earl of Wessex, 16.

She wore her three diamond necklaces from Felt, each containing the first initial of her husband and two children - E, L and J.

The necklaces cost £95 each, coming to a total of £285.

The duchess also wore a long dress from Matelier, complemented by a pristine white blazer jacket from Isabel Marant.

Sophie paired her bohemian-inspired outfit with suede boots from Gianvito Rossi, adding a touch of sophistication to the festive look.

A matching handbag from Sophie Habsburg completed her carefully curated accessories.

The close bond between Sophie and Kate spans over 13 years, with both women sharing similar middle-class backgrounds.

In the early days of Kate's relationship with Prince William, insiders revealed that Sophie offered guidance to the future Princess of Wales as she embarked on her royal journey.

Their supportive relationship was particularly evident at last month's remembrance events, where Sophie was seen placing a 'maternal' hand on Kate's back following the two-minute silence.

Sources suggest Sophie has stepped into the role previously held by Meghan Markle, who departed the Royal Family in 2020.

The two women's connection was clearly visible today at Westminster Abbey, where Sophie's presence demonstrated her ongoing support for Kate during what has been described as "the most difficult year of her life".

Sophie has been a consistent presence at the 'Together At Christmas' carol services since their inception in 2021, demonstrating her unwavering support for the initiative.

Today's service brought together numerous members of the Royal Family, including Prince William, Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall.

While the King and Queen were not among the guests, the event maintained its royal significance with the presence of multiple senior family members.
