King Charles is expected to meet bereaved families from Southport in London tomorrow following a mass stabbing on July 29.

The monarch will offer his condolences and support to the families of the victims after three young girls were killed.


Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, died following the attack which was followed by rioting in Southport and across the country.

A group of children were taking part in a sold-out Taylor Swift-themed class at a dance centre in the town when a knifeman carried out the offensive.

Axel Rudakubana, 18, has been charged withmurder, attempted murder and possession of a knife.

Charles is set to meet some of the surviving children who were present during the attack in Southport later today.

His Majesty is travelling to northern England to pay tribute to those affected by the incident which saw the death of three children and 10 others injured.

In the 10 days after the stabbings, riots erupted across the UK and resulted in 422 people in England and Wales being charged in connection with the violent disorder.

Charles praised the community spirit, compassion and resilience that countered aggression and criminality from the rioters.

In a statement, the King said that he hoped mutual respect and understanding would continue to unite the nation.

The 75-year-old and Queen Camilla said they were "profoundly shocked" following the knife attack last month.

At the time, he said: "My wife and I have been profoundly shocked to hear of the utterly horrific incident in Southport today.

Charles has broken off his summer holiday to visit Southport today after moving into Balmoral for his break in Scotland on Monday.

The King received an official welcome to Balmoral Castle as his holiday began.
