The King has stayed silent on the serious allegations directed towards the Duke of York

An anti-monarchy group played a cruel trick on King Charles today by demanding he "make a statement" regarding the Prince Andrew-Jeffrey Epstein Files.

Republic, which campaigns to abolish the British monarchy in favour of a republic, posted a video showing the encounter on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Duke of York has previously denied any wrongdoing, and Buckingham Palace has said the allegations made against Prince Andrew are “categorically untrue”.

GB News has approached Buckingham Palace and the Duke of York's representatives for comment.

Republic captioned the video, saying: "BREAKING NEWS: We've just delivered Charles the Prince Andrew-Jeffrey Epstein Files.

"Today we went to Sandringham, where we delivered the files to Charles, demanding that he read them and make a statement on these allegations."

The group's managing director, Graham Smith, said in the video: "After a week of unforgivable silence from Charles, regarding the very serious accusations of sexual abuse and rape of underage girls by his brother Andrew, we've turned up at Sandringham.

"We're going to deliver the Epstein documents to his door and we're going to demand that he speaks up and he explains himself.

"That he explains why he paid that £12million to Virginia Giuffre to keep his brother out of court, what he knew and when. We're going to demand that he speak up about these serious accusations."

However, it is unclear where the settlement monies paid to Giuffre came from.

The group members could then be seen in the video placing a banner on the gates outside Sandringham House which read: "Charles, why are you hiding?"

Speaking through a microphone, Smith said: "Charles, we're here to give you the Epstein documents which we don't think you've read.

"So if we can't hand them to you, we're going to read the most important passage."

He continued to read a passage from the court documents which alleged that Prince Andrew was one of the high-profile figures named, relating to the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Prince Andrew stepped away from royal duties in 2019 after his friendship with Epstein was discussed in a BBC interview on Newsnight.
