The couple are said to have met when Ms Lewis, 33, was working for the King and Queen.
She held a position in the Cabinet Office with the couple's foreign and Commonwealth team from April 2021 until January 2023, when she joined the family firm Lewis Advisors shortly after its founding.
It was revealed that Lt Col Thompson, who separated from his wife two years ago, was in a new relationship in February this year, when he was promoted to senior equerry to King Charles.
The role is less public-facing and involves helping to organise the King's private affairs.
