The 59-year-old has been seen wandering around in the heat with his shirt unbuttoned.

Goldsmith is the brother of Kate's mother Carole Middleton.

In March this year, he was paid £100,000 for his Big Brother appearance.

On day five he was the first to be evicted despite setting out to "change public perception" of him.

He revealed the large sum he made on the show during an interview with Times Magazine.

The multimillionaire said the money had bought him "half a watch" as he showed off his new Rolex.

Goldsmith also told The Times that he didn't believe William and Kate were "at their happiest".

The article was released just hours after his niece made her shock announcement about her cancer diagnosis.

He issued an apology on social media after widespread backlash.

He wrote: "As many will have seen, I am featured in Saturday's 'Times Magazine'.

"This interview and shoot was done over a week ago and went to print before I was aware of the sad news regarding my niece Kate.

"My thoughts and prayers are with Kate and the wider family at this difficult time and deeply upset at the timing of this article.

"I hope this draws a line over the continued speculation and horrible conspiracies. Let's give Kate, William & the children time and show some love back."
