Gary Goldsmith is Carole Middleton's younger brother

Princess Kate's uncle Gary Goldsmith has been urged against attacking Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to stop the "vicious circle", a royal commentator has claimed.

Carole Middleton's younger brother is said to be publishing a memoir to defend the Prince and Princess of Wales against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's attacks.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made multiple statements about William and Kate in their Oprah Winfrey interview, their Netflix documentary, and Harry's autobiography Spare.

Royal commentator Jennie Bond explained why publishing a memoir could backfire on Goldsmith.

She said: "I hope he doesn’t. Or, if he does, I hope it will be HIS story… not the story of the royal rift.

"I think the tactic so far - to rise above the barbs directed from California and instead to concentrate on work and service - has been both dignified and effective.

"If he starts disputing how events have played out it will surely only deepen the rift and provoke retaliation from the Sussexes.

"And so the vicious circle will continue."

Bond explained which member of the Royal Family Goldsmith should look to for inspiration.

"Much better to adopt Camilla’s strategy…least said, soonest mended," the commentator told OK!.

"Mr Goldsmith is said to be wealthy enough, so I can’t think why he would want to write a book in the first place."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be fearful of Goldsmith's anticipated memoir.

A source explained: "[Prince Harry] and Meghan won’t like it one bit and will be dreading the book’s release."

Relations between the Sussexes and the Waleses began to deteriorate in 2020 when Harry and Meghan stepped down from their position as working royals.

The duke and duchess now live in Montecito with their two children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two.
