The Prince and Princess of Wales are weighing up which school would best suit their children

Princess Kate and Prince William are considering a surprise U-turn on what school Prince George will attend.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have considered multiple schools including Eton and Marlborough College during their search for the perfect secondary school for their eldest son.

However, Oundle School, an independent co-educational establishment that costs between £22,000 and £45,000 a year, has emerged as a surprise contender, according to The Times.

Prince William is thought to be keen on Prince George attending Eton.

The Prince of Wales and his brother Prince Harry both attended the prestigious single-sex boarding school.

While Kate, according to reports, would prefer for her son to go to Marlborough College, the school she attended.

The royals toured the £47,000-a-year school last year.

Sending George to a co-educational establishment would allow both his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to join their brother at the same school.

The three young royals all currently attend Lambrook, a co-educational day prep school.

William and Harry both attended Eton together, however, the Duke of Sussex said the brothers did not interact much at school.

Harry alleged that William told him: "Pretend we don’t know each other" as he joined Eton.

The Duke of Sussex said: "Yeah, and at the time it hurt. I couldn’t make sense of it.

"I was like, 'What do you mean? We’re now at the same school.

"Like, I haven’t seen you for ages, now we get to hang out together.'

"He’s like, 'No, no, no, when we’re at school we don’t know each other.' And I took that personally."
