Princess Kate and Prince William's Windsor home is at risk of floods from the River Thames, it has been claimed.

Adelaide Cottage, the Windsor home of the Prince and Princess of Wales, is located close to the banks of the River Thames.

Recent images have shown the River Thames overflowing near the Windsor cottage.

This comes as a flurry of wind, rain, and snow hit the UK in recent days, affecting many areas across the nation.

Photographs show portions of a path, including a park bench, outside Adelaide Cottage disappearing underwater.

The threat to Adelaide Cottage has coincided with many Britons having to deal with water damage from flooded homes.

The West Mid Showground owner Ian Bebbington spoke about how unusual floods have started to happen more frequently.

Bebbington explained: "10 years ago, nine years ago, the flood over New Year would have been absolutely horrific.

"Today I am sitting here thinking that's just par for the course now."

Adding to the BBC, he said: "Our climate has changed... and where it would happen once a year, it is now multiple times a year."

The Prince and Princess of Wales moved to Adelaide Cottage in the summer of 2022, just in time for Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, to start school nearby.

The three royal children attend Lambrook School, just a stone's throw away from their home.

This comes as Kate is reportedly "heartbroken" that Prince William wants to send Prince George to Eton College when he turns 13.

The Prince of Wales and his brother Prince Harry attended the single-sex boarding school. Kate was said to be keen for George to attend her former school, Marlborough College.

The source told In Touch Weekly: "Kate long disagreed with her husband about sending him away, even though it's tradition.

"Kate thinks sending him to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernise the monarchy. Plus, she'll miss George desperately."
