The Princess of Wales is a influential figure in the British fashion industry
Princess Kate has been told she needs to be "more French" in a savage critique of her fashion sense.
A former Vogue editor has suggested ways in which the Princess of Wales's style can be improved.
Carine Roitfeld, the editor of Vogue Paris from 2001 to 2011, has suggested that Kate should start to separate herself from solely British designers.
Kate occasionally wears these brands, for instance, in 2022 she wore a vintage Chanel jacket during her trip to Boston.

In addition, the princess chose to wear a Saint Laurent jacket during her royal tour of the Caribbean last year.
But on the whole, the 41-year-old tends to represent British designers and fashion houses.
Roitfield said regarding the royal's style: "More Saint Laurent, more Chanel. More French."
For her royal wedding in 2011, Kate wore an Alexander McQueen dress that was designed by Sarah Burton.

As well as this, the princess enjoys wearing Mulberry, Stella McCartney, and Temperley London on a regular basis.
Kate's fans defended her style against Roitfield's comments.
One royal watcher said: "The #PrincessofWales has oodles of style and so does her stylist."
Another added: "Why would the Princess of Wales need to be 'more French'?

"She does incorporate some pieces from the French design houses, but she's typically representing the UK's fashion industry."
Someone else commented: "Princess Catherine has great dress sense."
Roitfield also told The Times that Kate should wear more black, instead of reserving the colour for mourning periods and funerals.
She said: "Black. More black. A lot of black. She only wears black at the funeral, maybe it's a law in the Royal Family, but I would dress her more in black."

Royal fans once again took to the princess's defence.
One stated: "The royal ladies choose not to wear the colour during their official engagements as black is usually reserved for official morning."
Another commented: "Roitfeld ‘thinks’ Princess Catherine should wear more black while acknowledging that the colour is really only worn for solemn occasions.
"Princess Catherine is always dressed appropriately for whatever the occasion or event and looks fantastic ALWAYS."
