Princess Kate has been offered to appear on the global covers of Vogue magazine to showcase her role as a "global fashion icon", according to a royal source.

The magazine's editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, is thought to have made a personal plea to the future Queen, according to the Mail.

The Princess of Wales is said to make a decision on the offer in the past few days.

The publication would reportedly allow Kate to choose her own photographer.

In addition, The Princess of Wales would oversee fashion choices and decide if she would grant an interview with the publication.

Wintour reached out via an intermediary to offer Kate her choice of global Vogue covers, including the US and UK versions, a source told the Mail.

Kate appeared on the cover of British Vogue in June 2016 to celebrate the magazine's 100th anniversary.

A source describes the mother of three as a "role model to millions" following her battle against cancer.

The source said: "The princess has come a long way since that first cover. She's a global fashion icon but she is so much more.

"Her brave battle against cancer while raising three young children in the public eye makes her a role model to millions.

"Her story would be an inspiration to so many women going through what she has gone through.

"She would get to choose which covers she would feature on, but the UK and the US would be a given."

The Princess of Wales revealed it was "a relief to now be in remission" following her major health update earlier this month.

The princess highlighted that she will "remain focused on recovery" and will take "time to adjust to a new normal".

In the announcement following Kate's visit to the hospital where she was treated, she said: "My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything."

Kate’s public cancer journey began in March last year when she announced she had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of the disease.
