Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh followed after the Princess of Wales with a curtsey as the King, her brother-in-law, passed her.
The act of a curtsey is a traditional sign of deep respect when greeting a monarch.
Women typically greet the sovereign with a curtsy and small bow of the head if they are seeing them for the first time that day.
While for men the greeting is typically a head bow.
During the ceremony, The Princess of Wales stunned in a three-dimensional leaf embroidery headpiece by milliner Jess Collett and Alexander McQueen.
She wore regal robes at the coronation, including a deep blue Royal Victorian Order mantle edged in scarlet over an Alexander McQueen embroidered ivory silk crepe dress.
Kate also paid homage to Princess Diana by wearing a pair of earrings Diana wore in 1990.
And in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth II, she wore the George VI Festoon Necklace — a gift from King George VI to his daughter, then Princess Elizabeth.

Princess Charlotte was dressed in a mini-me version of her mother, with a similar crystal headpiece by the same milliner.
Eight-year-old Charlotte also wore an Alexander McQueen dress – with a cape – in ivory silk crepe.
