Princess Kate has issued an official apology over the manipulated photograph that was released on Mother's Day.
The picture has been removed from all major international photography platforms after editing issues were spotted.
The Princess of Wales has now released a statement on X apologising for editing the picture.
Kate wrote on the social media platform: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

"I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.
"I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C"
The image was circulated by several major photography agencies including Getty, Reuters, AP and PA on Sunday.
However, AP, Getty and Reuters all removed the photograph from their platforms on Sunday due to fears that it had been manipulated.

PA, which is the UK's national news agency, had chosen not to remove the photograph and sought urgent clarification from Kensington Palace regarding the authenticity of the picture.
Kensington Palace had denied to comment on the photograph and PA released a statement confirming they had joined the other major photo agencies in "killing" the picture.
A spokesperson for the UK’s national news agency said: "Like other news agencies, PA Media issued the handout image provided by Kensington Palace of the Princess of Wales and her children in good faith yesterday.
"We became aware of concerns about the image and we carried a report about it last night, and made clear that we were seeking urgent clarification about the image from Kensington Palace.
Princess Kate's apology came less than an hour after PA confirmed they had removed the photo.
