James Holt has been given an eye-watering pay rise by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have given their Archewell director a staggering 277 percent pay rise, despite donations for their foundation plummeting.

James Holt, the top boss at Archewell, was awarded the pay rise after working for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for just 12 months.

The Executive Director started on a £47,641 salary, according to the 2021 Archewell accounts.

But by the following year, Holt's earnings had increased to £181,030 - which represents a staggering 277 percent rise.

As well as the £133,389 pay rise, Holt was given a £16,000 bonus to complement his six-figure salary.

This was made evident through the foundation's public disclosure of their accounts.

They stated that the extra money was the “estimated amount of other compensation from the organisation and related organisations”.

The Archewell Foundation suffered a significant £8.7million drop in revenue in the last year.

The detailed financial documents showed that the foundation only had two donors for the last year.

They donated £795,210 each, which contributed to their significant drop of over £8.7million in a year.

Harry and Meghan’s foundation also recorded a loss of £536,357 due to the shortfall in donations.

In 2021, the duke and duchess secured a profit of more than £7.1million.

On the other hand, their expenses came to a grand total of £2.1million.

The public document showed that Harry and Meghan continue to go by their royal titles, as they are listed as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
