Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have been "denied so many memories" with the Royal Family, a royal commentator has claimed, as Harry and Meghan are set to avoid the UK.

Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, have spent the majority of their lives in Montecito, California, unlike their cousins and second-cousins on the Duke of Sussex's side of the family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as working royals in 2020 and settled in the US.

They are not thought to be on speaking terms with many high-profile senior members of the Royal Family.

Lydia Alty, a royal commentator, spoke exclusively to GB News to explain how Harry and Meghan's children may feel as a result of being separated from the British Royal Family.

She claimed: "Where it will likely do the most damage, would be to Prince Harry's own children, Archie and Lilibet.

"I expect they barely know any of their wider family but Meghan’s mother's family.

"This means they are likely being barred from their family.

"They are going to never get to know their cousins or their paternal grandfather, uncle and aunt and that can seriously affect a child, especially if their parents continue to burn bridges with the royals."

The Duke of Sussex will celebrate his 40th birthday on September 15 - a milestone which in former times would have been celebrated alongside King Charles and Prince William.

However, Alty claims this situation is "unlikely".

She continued: "If you have a good and close relationship with your family, on an occasion like this you may celebrate all together at a meal or a party.

"This is something that will not happen for obvious reasons, which is taking so many memories away from the younger generations of royals."

Following Harry's birthday, the duke will be heading to New York for UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week.

Climate Week begins on September 22 and runs until September 29, while High-level Week runs from September 23 to September 27.

Prince Harry will be in New York to "advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives," his spokesperson said. "He will participate in engagements with African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst."
