Donald Trump will "never be 100 per cent safe" and needs "the same level of protection as Joe Biden" ahead of the November Presidential election, a former detective has claimed.
In a foiled second assassination attempt on the Republican, the Secret Service were forced to intercept a shooter at the Trump International Golf Course.
58-year-old suspect Ryan Routh appeared in court on Monday after being said to have set up a spot on the Trump property with an SKS-style rifle, before being arrested by police 38 miles away after an attempt to flee the scene.
Speaking to GBN America, former NYPD [New York Police Department] detective Bo Dietl claimed that the suspect in this case "was not an amateur", given the severity of the weapon he was planning to use on the former President.

Analysing the latest attempt on Trump's life in a matter of months, Dietl admitted: "It really scares me. We know that Iran has put a hit out on him, and we're seeing these amateurs - but I don't think they're amateurs.
"That was a very high powered rifle, and certainly he could have killed President Trump."
When asked by GBN America host Steven Edginton if he believes Trump will "ever be safe", Dietl did not think so, explaining: "Iranians are seeing this right now and they want a hit on him. It could be a lot more serious than what happened, and we have to be careful.
"The reality is, if someone wants to get to somebody, you'll never be 100 per cent safe. I have friends who are marine snipers that could take out people a mile away with a 50 caliber. You could be hiding almost anywhere."

Revealing more details about the incident at Trump's golf course, Dietl said a friend of his was at the property when the shooting attempt took place.

Dietl said: "My ex-real estate partner Steve Wyckoff called me at the time. He was playing golf with Trump and he said they heard four shots.
"They thought it was from outside the facility, when in fact, we all learned that the shots came from the Secret Service officer that was really quick to fire at the muzzle of that rifle."
Discussing any possible security changes to the golf course, Dietl admitted that in order to increase the protection for Trump when he is playing golf, they would have to "shut the roads" in order to stop unauthorised personnel from entering the grounds.
Dietl added: "That whole area there where the golf course is, it's got big hedges all around the fence. In order for that to be 100 per cent protected, you would have to shut the roads around that whole golf course. And I don't know if they're if they're going to do something like that."

Turning the discussion to the Democrats and their possible influence in the rhetoric against Donald Trump during the election campaign, Dietl was asked by Steven if he believes the motives of the party rivals is "fuelling" such events.
Dietl agreed, expanding: "I absolutely think it is - when they're calling him Hitler and that he's going to destroy democracy... if anybody is destroying democracy, it's how they utilise the justice system on the democratic side right now.
"What's happening is that it's just becoming more rhetoric, and they're trying to frighten people off. It's all nonsense as far as I'm concerned, but it's certainly bringing the heat up as far as this attacks on Trump."
Calling for heightened protection for Trump, Dietl added: "We've got to remember one thing, Donald Trump could be the next President again, and he should have 100 per cent the same protection as the President Joe Biden.
"As far as I'm concerned, he was the President and he possibly could become the President again."
