Robert De Niro has been filmed in a sweary spat outside Donald Trump’s hush money trial.

De Niro, 80, said “f**k you” as he locked horns with a supporter of the 45th President in Manhattan.

The Oscar-winning actor, known for his appearances in The Godfather and Taxi Driver, claimed Trump “should not be allowed” to run for the White House after turning up outside his criminal trial in the Big Apple.

De Niro was joined by two former police officers who were at the January 6 riots.

He appeared outside the courthouse on behalf of Joe Biden’s campaign team.

However, a top Biden campaign adviser stressed the group were not there to talk about the trial.

De Niro and the officers did not reference the criminal case directly.

Biden campaign communications director Michael Tyler said: “We're not here today because of what's going on over there. We're here today because you all are here.”

The Manhattan courthouse is hearing the closing arguments in the case concerning whether Trump falsified business documents to cover up his alleged affair with adult actress Stormy Daniels.

Speaking outside, De Niro said: “You know my view of Donald Trump, he's a monster.

“He should not be allowed... listen - he cannot be President of the United States again, never, ever.

“People know that, and many people know that and are afraid to say something, but people have to speak up now and say, and acknowledge to themselves that he's a monster, and they might be afraid, but they've got to speak up.

“This is the moment of truth for this country. Period.”

Trump's senior campaign adviser, Jason Miller, labelled De Niro a “washed-up actor”.

He added: “After months of saying politics had nothing to do with this trial, they showed up and made a campaign event out of a Lower Manhattan trial day for President Trump.”

The Trump campaign’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt called Biden’s campaign “desperate”, “failing” and “pathetic”.

Despite De Niro’s comments about Trump not being allowed to return to the White House, Socialist Eugene Debbs received more than 900,000 votes while being banged up at Atlanta Federal Penitentiary.

A recent opinion poll conducted by Emerson College found Trump has opened up a five-point lead over Biden.

Biden received 39 per cent support, with his Republican rival streaking ahead on 44 per cent.

Robert F Kennedy, who is following a family tradition of running for the White House, also received six per cent support.
