Tory MP claims ‘I’m READY for a May election’ ahead of Spring budget

Conservative MP Harriett Baldwin has claimed: "I'm ready for a May election" after pressure has been piled on the Prime Minister to call one.

Speaking to GB News she said: " I can say with great confidence that it's going to be this year.

"I don't know when because it's up to the Prime Minister to make that decision. But it'll be sometime between the 2nd of May, which is the earliest date. And I think November."

When asked if she "has an inkling" of when it could be she claimed: "I'm ready for the 2nd of May. But I don't have an inkling though sometime between those two points."
