Former Home Secretary Suella Braverman has refused to rule out quitting the Conservative party if a "woke" new leader is elected.
Braverman sat down for an exclusive interview with GBN America and told Steven Edginton that the Tories "need credibility."
The 44-year-old MP has been widely tipped to be a frontrunner for the upcoming leadership race after the former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said he will step down once his successor is chosen.
On Tuesday, Braverman urged the party to build its offer around "core Conservative policies" and backed a departure from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). She also accused Government bodies of harbouring a "lunatic woke virus".

Speaking to GBN America she said: "There's no leadership contest going on at the moment, all the journalists need to calm down.
"No one has announced that. I'm not making any announcements."

Edginton later asked: "Even if Jeremy Hunt or a completely woke Liberal Tory MP wins the wins the leadership, you'll stay in the party?"
Braverman responded: "Listen, I'm not going to make any commitments to what happens to our party. We want to be the Conservative Party.
"The things that need to happen are an acknowledgement and an acceptance of the problem and what went wrong. That is the precondition for fixing anything and improving our chances.
"Whoever's leader needs to accept that. And if they don't, then they're not going to be a very successful leader.

"The second issue is then on acknowledgement of that problem and adapting the party. Changing ourselves so that we are robust and credible.
"That's the key word, credible. If we want to persuade those millions of people who voted for Reform to come back to us, we need credibility. We need to be authentic.
"It's no good putting on the costume of Reform for superficial purposes.

"To get the leadership or to get the nomination only for under pressure, under scrutiny to revert, because that's only going to get us back into the same situation and quandary that we're in right now.
"So we need authenticity. We need credibility and we need robustness. And I'm not really interested in the personalities.
"I'm interested in the substance and the policies of what we're offering.
"Because I care about my party. I want us to win because I care about the country."
