Lord Peter Cruddas has called for Tory donors to stop funding the Conservative Party until it undergoes constitutional change.
He hit out at the current state of the party, saying it is “heading for electoral disaster”.
Speaking at the CDO Gala Dinner in Manchester, Cruddas hit out at the current state of the party, saying it is “heading for electoral disaster”.
Cruddas, the founder of the Conservative Democratic Organisation, issued a call to action for Tory MPs, urging them to publicly back the organisation and join as a patron.

The CDO was founded in 2022 by Cruddas after the removal of Boris Johnson and Liz Truss.
It is made up of right wing party members and backed by influential Conservatives such as Priti Patel, who also gave an address at the dinner.
Earlier this week, members of the CDO called for Sunak to be ousted as PM in leaked messages.
The grassroots Conservatives threatened to “go to war” with the liberal wing of the party.
