The Labour Party has been caught up in a second antisemitism row after it was forced to suspend a would-be MP just 24 hours after it ditched its candidate in the Rochdale by-election

Richard Tice has slammed the Labour Party saying that it is "riddled" with antisemitism.

It comes after the political party landed itself in hot water again after prospective MP Graham Jones reportedly said that those who volunteer to fight for the Israel Defense Forces “should be locked up”.

Earlier in the week Labour withdrew its support for the candidate in Rochdale, Azhar Ali, who said that Israel had “allowed” last October’s Hamas terror attacks to take place so that it could use them as a pretext to attack Gaza.

Reform leader Richard Tice spoke to GB News and said: "I mean, this is horrific.

"What it's showing us, regrettably, is that the Labour Party is still absolutely riddled from top to bottom, with anti-Semitism activists, members, candidates, councillors.

"What about the vetting process?

"I mean the grief that I get when one of my candidates says there isn't a climate crisis, and apparently that's appalling.

"This is chalk and cheese compared to what's going on in the Labour Party. I just think it's utterly appalling.

"Then you see what's happened outside Tobias Ellwood's house with a former Labour candidate, this pro-Palestine. I tell you what, they're pro-Hamas marches.

"I went to have a chat with a group outside the BBC ten days ago. They wouldn't have any form of discussion. They shouted, they abused me. They ramped up, the noise.

"They didn't want to have any form of discussion at all.

"These people are not rational, they are vile, they're intimidating, they're anti-Semitic and I think the Labour Party is riddled with it."

Labour initially backed Mr Ali, saying he had fallen for an online conspiracy theory.

But the party dramatically dropped him on Monday night after it emerged that he had also blamed “people in the media from certain Jewish quarters” for fuelling criticism of a pro-Palestinian MP.

He will still be listed as the Labour candidate on the ballot paper as under electoral law it is too late to replace him.

However, it is understood Mr Ali has been suspended from the party pending an investigation.
