Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has been issued with a blunt assessment of the Labour Government, as he marks his first 50 days in Downing Street.
The Labour lead has faced several waves of criticism for key decisions made during his first two months as Britain's premier, including his decision to cut Winter Fuel Payments and his approach to the recent riots across the country.
In another blow to the Labour Government, it was announced by regulator Ofgem that energy bills are set to increase by up to £150 from October.
Starmer had previously promised voters ahead of the election that Labour has a "fully costed plan to freeze energy bills this winter".

Speaking to GB News, former Conservative special adviser Charlie Rowley claimed Starmer is "not a politician" and has "no strategy within Government" to run Britain.
Rowley explained: "Keir Starmer is not a politician. He's obviously probably a very good Director of Public Prosecutions, probably a very good manager, but there is no strategy within this Government.
"Starmer has just passed 50 days, one day more than Liz Truss. But let's not forget the reason why she had to bail out, because of the way in which she handled the economy by not having the OBR impact assessments on some of the economic policies.
"So you would have thought you'd learn from the predecessor, one that you just surpassed in terms of a record number of days, so I think there will be some changes coming down the line for sure."

Discussing the decision by Labour to scrap the Winter Fuel Payments, host Dawn Neesom asked former Editor of Labour List Peter Edwards if Starmer should u-turn on the decision.

Edwards said: "The winter fuel allowance is universal, like a GP appointment, so I think it does come down to where you draw the threshold for the means test.
"They could defer it for a year on the basis of the economy, and fuel prices might be different in 12 months time or adjust the means test."
Offering his verdict on the move, Rowley fumed that Labour is "taking away from hard working pensioners" and is "in the pockets of the trade unions".
Rowley fumed: "It just shows that this Government has got no strategy, it doesn't know what it's doing. It's flying by the seat of its pants.

"And that's why many people will see big pay going to their union bosses, their union paymasters, whilst at the same time taking away from hard working and hard pressed pensioners - that is not a good look.
"That is a Labour government's record and they'll pay the price, I think maybe in a few years time."
Hitting back at Rowley, Edwards argued: "Labour said we'll settle the strikes, and they've begun to settle. Doctors asked for 35 per cent and the Labour government said no sir, they didn't get it.
"We've had 14 years of Conservative government, and there aren't enough prison places. So whose fault is that? Let's put our thinking caps on - 14 years of a Conservative government, why they're not enough prison places?
"Is it down to the milkman? Is it down to Tony Blair, or is it down to the Conservative government?"
