It has now been revealed clips filmed by Keir Starmer seemingly at home in the pandemic were actually filmed in Lord Alli's £18million central London penthouse

Sir Keir Starmer has been accused of trying to mislead the public with a "weird" move, with GB News presenter Stephen Dixon exclaiming "surely it is not another partygate?"

This comes after it emerged he filmed a Covid message in a donor's luxury flat whilst making it appear to be his own home.

The video, shot in December 2021, shows Starmer urging Britons to work from home and get booster jabs amidst the spread of the Omicron variant.

Behind him, family photos and cards were visible, creating the impression that he was speaking from his Kentish Town residence.

However, it has now been revealed that the clip was actually filmed in Lord Alli's £18million Covent Garden penthouse.

Speaking about this on GB News political correspondent Olivia Utley said: "It is all a little bit weird.

"We now know that Keir Starmer was using this £20m penthouse in Covent Garden. He claims that he's been using it recently because his son needed some space to revise in piece over the election season for his GCSEs.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

"Although the time doesn't seem to match up exactly GCSE season at the time when the flat was being used aren't exactly the same.

"But now it has emerged that Keir Starmer was also recorded that message during the Covid lockdowns from Lord Ali's apartment.

"He's made it look like his own house, with pictures of his family behind him now that could get him in trouble in terms of the lockdown rules, because working from home was allowed.

"But working with someone else's home is another question. "

This has led to comparisons with the 'partygate' scandal that plagued Boris Johnson's government.

GB News presenter Stephen Dixon remarked: "Don't tell me that we are going to end up with another partygate? Surely not!"

The Conservative Party has called on Starmer to explain why he didn't declare the use of Lord Alli's penthouse for political purposes and why he wasn't honest about the location.

The controversy has raised questions about Labour's ability to manage its public image.

Despite the party's recent conference being the first in 15 years while in government, Starmer has been unable to shake scrutiny over donation-related issues.

Labour MPs have reportedly been critical behind the scenes of the party's handling of the situation.

The Prime Minister's warning of "tough" economic decisions ahead has done little to foster goodwill amidst the ongoing freebie fiasco.
