Richard Tice has stepped down as the leader of Reform UK after Nigel Farage made a u-turn on his election decision

Chair of Reform UK Richard Tice sparked a heated row with GB News presenter Andrew Pierce after being grilled on how many members the political party has.

The former party leader stepped aside earlier this week for Nigel Farage to take the reins ahead of the General Election.

Addressing the change on GB News, Tice was questioned by Andrew about the inner workings of the party and claimed it is a "company which Nigel Farage owns 53 per cent of".

Andrew put the question to Tice, stating: "You don't work for a political party, it's a company. What other political party can have a leadership change on the say so of one person?

"53 per cent of Reform UK is owned by Nigel Farage. No other political party in Europe operates like Reform UK."

When pressed on whether Tice is "comfortable" with Nigel "owning Reform" as well as being leader, Tice hit back: "I'm thrilled to bits!"

Andrew then asked "how many councils" and "how many members" Reform has.

Tice left Andrew frustrated as he failed to give a specific number, causing the GB News star to swipe: "Let's answer questions. You won't answer basic questions!"

Tice then vaguely claimed: "We've got tens of thousands. Since Monday we've had over 6000."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

An unsatisfied Andrew grilled Tice again, fuming: "How many members have you got? You won't tell us. It is not a proper democratic, transparent political party.

"It is a company, listed at Companies House, run by one man who's the shareholder."

Tice launched a staunch defence of Reform, hitting back at Andrew's "inaccuracies". He raged: "Andrew, I'm sorry to say, if you're going to be a serious journalist, you've got to be accurate in what you write. It's hysterical! It's like a comic piece."

Bev Turner then interjected to ask Tice whether he believes it "matters to the voting public" if Reform is a company or political party.

Tice claimed: "Not at all, it makes no difference at all. It's only the terrified Tories who are struggling with the concept that actually we've got real conservative values, we've got the people on our side, millions of people who say I want another choice."

Grilling Tice again on Reform's undisclosed number of members, Andrew asked for the 19th time: "Why didn't you tell us how many members you've got?"

Tice hit back, making clear: "We've had over 6,000 members since Monday. We have 10,000 members, and we'll confirm it when we're ready."
