OPINION: Three cases of illegal migrants hacking our legal system shows we must adopt the Aussie approach to stop illegal immigration, says Kelvin MacKenzie.

I was on Michelle Dewberry’s show on GB News and was mightily impressed by the thought process of another guest Peta Credlin, a former chief of staff to Aussie Prime Minister Tony Abbott. She talked my kind of game.

Turning back the boats and not allowing illegal migrants to join the legal system.

Those policies worked in Australia but seem to be beyond either Conservative or Labour Prime Ministers in our own democratic United Kingdom. A mixture of money-hungry lawyers and illegal migrants who love our benefits system has meant they will fight like fury for years to stay.

And every day they find judges who hide behind the ECHR to allow illegal migrants to stay. There have been three cases of late which have enraged me.

The latest to catch my eye was the illegal migrant who stabbed his wife to death but won the right to stay here after arguing that his in-laws would want to take revenge on him if he returned to Turkey.

Were that the case who cares? His story was that he murdered his wife because she was planning to leave him after he failed to give her a baby because of his infertility.

He was jailed for life for a minimum of 12 years and was released in 2018. Even his Parole Board said he was still a high risk but the killer, granted anonymity God knows why, qualified for statutory freedom.

The Judge agreed the family might want to take revenge. Who could blame them? Most in-laws would want to take it out on a killer if given the opportunity.

Case No.2 concerns a Sri Lankan man who came to this country on a student visa for three-year degree course in fashion design at London Reading College.

In 2011 he was arrested for abusing boys aged between 13 and 15, then in 2012 was jailed for five offences of sexual activity and told he was liable to be deported as a foreign criminal.

But that has still not happened, 14 years later at what cost to the taxpayer is hard to discover.

The card he, and his legal team played (think we should always be told how much the lawyers are making) is that he is gay and that homosexuality is banned back home and that he might face "degrading or inhuman treatment."

What about the ‘’degrading and inhuman treatment’’ he dished out to those three boys as he satisfied his sexual desires.

At last the Court of Appeal has agreed and told the lower immigration court that being gay in Sri Lanka "does not reach the standard of persecution or serious harm" which would be enough to stop him being deported.

That after 14 years and all that money wasted. And that money is yours.

Case No3 has had some publicity. A Nigerian woman was denied asylum eight times in a row but has just won her case on the 9th attempt because she joined what’s regarded as a terrorist organisation in her home country.

This is despite the judge’s acceptance that the woman had only joined the Indigenous People of Biafra 'in order to create a claim for asylum'.

Was it not possible for the judge to say that such a stunt would mean she could NOT come into the country rather than laying out the welcome mat.

Those three cases are simply the ones that have made the headlines of late. Let us adopt the Aussie approach and say if you are an illegal migrant you will not get access to our legal system. Simple as that.

The lawyers would all start weeping. That would be an added bonus.
